Download an OverDrive Media Title

Download Location (Single Title):

When you first download a title, you will be prompted to confirm the default location to which the title will be saved. If you prefer to save the file elsewhere you can override the default by typing a different path in the 'Folder' field, or by clicking the 'Change...' button and browsing to a different location.

If the option to specify a different download folder is unavailable, this is because the title has been previously downloaded. If a title has been downloaded before, it will be saved to the same download folder used originally (shown in the 'Folder' field).

Download Location (All Titles):

If you want to change the default destination for all titles going forward, go to OverDrive Media Console > Preferences, highlight the file path, select 'Change...', and browse to the desired default download location.

Download Part(s):

Select the title and click the 'Download' button or select File > Download from the menu. The 'Download' dialog box is displayed. Place a checkmark next to the Part(s) you would like to download.

Note: If a title has expired, you will be unable to download any Part(s) and will receive a message box prompting you to delete the title in accordance with the license agreement.

Pause a Download

Select File > Pause Download to pause the download of a file. Note that if the download has already been paused, the menu option will read 'Resume Download'. Click 'Resume Download' to continue a paused download.

Cancel a Download

Select File > Cancel Download to cancel a download in progress. Note that the 'Cancel Download' option will be available only if a download is in progress.
